Archive principle
Historical Hampshire political and council records are preserved with their original titles, dates, institutional context and status. Archive material is evidence of what existed at the time; it does not by itself establish a current office, power, body or procedure.
Current-record boundary
Current Hampshire Chamber records are published separately from historical material. Where an older record has been superseded, it should remain identifiable as historical rather than being silently rewritten into the present institutional form.
